Patch Pal of December 2016Kari Fremont

Our Patch Pal of the Month for December is Kari Fremont.

Originally from Port Orange, Kari moved to St. Pete to study Marine Biology at the University of South Florida. Through her studies, she has traveled across Florida studying the preservation of marine life, with a strong focus on coral life and sea turtles. Due to her stellar grades and achievements, we are so proud to announce that Kari was inducted into the honor society just last week!

Kari can be found working at the door most Patch nights, alongside her amazing other half, Dustin Trimmer (Link). They were both involved with preparations for Burning Blueberry Brother this year and were even involved in the Conclave performance prior to the effigy burn.

We are so happy to have this dynamic couple involved with the Blueberry Patch and look forward to their future in growing with the Patch, bringing us into the next generation of Patch Pals.

Thank you for all that you do, inside and outside of the Blueberry Patch. You are an amazing citizen of our planet and your kindness is not overlooked or unappreciated!

Patch Pal of November 2016Chris Pack

Our Patch Pal of the Month for November is Christopher Joel Pack.

Originally from Spartanburg, SC, Chris has been living in the Tampa Bay area for over a decade. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as KC-135 Crew Chief, a military aerial refueling aircraft. A civilian now, Chris makes his living as a graphic designer and can be seen around town twisting everyone into a frenzy as the lovable front man in Twisty Chris and the Puddin’ Packs and behind the drums as the energetic DinoSarge in the local punk band, Nerds Raging.

Chris has been attending Patch nights on a regular basis over the last year where he can be seen checking ID’s at the gate. He attends most volunteer Saturday’s and has been known to recruit his fellow band mates to assist with some of the heavy lifting on larger projects.

You can see Chris on stage at The Blueberry Patch later this month with Twisty Chris and the Puddin’ Packs at our 14th Annual Burning Blueberry Brother – Da Vinci’s Workshop on November 19th.

Veteran’s Day is coming up – November 11th. When you see Chris, be sure to thank him for his service to both the Blueberry Patch and to our country.
Peace, Love & Blueberries!

Patch Pal of October 2016Sara Maugere

Sara Maugere is a Tampa native who spends much of her time bouncing between Tampa and St. Pete. Sara originally came to The Blueberry Patch a few years ago but began calling it home when she started attending events regularly since January of this year. She is one of the first to walk through the door on a Patch night and can almost always be seen working the 7 o’clock shift volunteering at the door. She has proven to be a consistent and reliable member of our Patch family and for that, we have asked her to act as our vendor liaison!

Sara is incredibly talented and fluent when it comes to her understanding of sign language. You can occasionally see her on stage during our Open Mic events, turning words into beautiful performances by interpreting lyrics as sign language. Sara supports local music and is beloved by many of the bands and artists.

Sara, you are a wonderful gift to the Blueberry Patch. Thank you for your dedication to our community and we are thankful for all that you do!

Peace, Love & Blueberries!

Patch Pal of September 2016Dustin “Link” Trimmer

“Be the change you want to see.“

A recent transplant from Columbus, Ohio, Link moved to Florida a little over one year ago. Through word of mouth, he and his girlfriend Kari Fremont found The Blueberry Patch and have been regulars ever since. Link can be seen volunteering at the door, heavy lifting on Volunteer Saturday’s and has even been seen playing guitar during our Open Mic!

Outside of the Patch, Link created “Link’s Tri-Force Thursday’s”, which is a volunteer effort to help preserve the Tri-Force (WISDOM, POWER, & COURAGE) by cleaning our beaches and parks. He is also instrumental in assisting Greenpeace & The Everyday Hero Project in organizing the event “Jammin for the Planet” on Saturday, September 3rd, 11am-3pm in downtown St. Pete at Williams Park. We are so proud of his involvement and love for the environment.

Link has also stepped forward to organize our fire safety plan for the 14th Annual Burning Blueberry Brother on November 19th at the Blueberry Patch. We are beyond thrilled that both he and Kari have joined the Blueberry Patch family! Thank you for all that you do!
